WELS Web site for teens
LivingBold is a website for Christian teens in general and WELS' teens in particular. It's main purpose is to help teens grow in their relationship with Jesus and each other. Related objectives are... 1) Assist teens in growing in their relationship with Jesus through contact with the Word. 2) Provide teens with morally positive places to visit on the web which will provide them with useful information, entertainment, empathetic support and spiritual encouragement, and a better understanding of the way God works in a world broken by sin. 3) Promote grace-motivated, Christian values and lifestyles. 4) Help youth interpret issues in their personal lives and in the world according to Biblical principles. 5) Encourage Christian teens to share the gospel in word and action with other Christians and with those unaware of the gospel. 6) Encourage Christian teens to develop and use the creative gifts God has given them. 7) Encourage friendships between Christian peers that are not limited to physical proximity. 8) Provide a caring and positive place for teens to meet and minister to each other. 9) Highlight for subscribers online ministries and resources that are available within this denomination and those affiliated with WELS. LivingBold began in the fall of 2001, and is operated by the WELS Commission on Youth Discipleship (CYD), out of the WELS international headquarters in Milwaukee, WI. LivingBold launched a totally new look with new features in the fall of 2003. The new look and features were largely the result of input from a "Think Tank" of WELS teens who worked with the LivingBold staff to make the website better. Soon another upgrade will be launched with the help of students from Wisconsin Lutheran High School.
